Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim, better known as Tom Jobim, was born on January 25, 1927 near Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro.

His house was located on Rua Conde de Bonfim and it was here that his genius began to gain form. Born in a middle class family, Jobim has since had an affinity for music.

As he grew up, he attended music school and eventually began to discover that some of the biggest Brazilian songs had already been recorded.

Initially influenced by classical European composers such as Mozart, Jobim developed a unique style combining traditional Brazilian rhythms with jazz elements. I met Thereza de Otero Hermanny in 1949, at the age of 22, with two children, Paulo and Elizabeth. The couple lived together for 29 years before separating in 1978. In 1986 they married Ana Beatriz Lontra, who had two children together: Paulo Jobim and Maria Luiza Jobim.
